ABOUT ME

I started my counseling career with one goal in mind: to help people find balance and manage their mental health. My background in psychology and counseling combined with my experience as a wildland firefighter has prepared me to work with firefighters around any mental health concerns.

Iā€™d love to work with you individually or with your fire organization around mental wellness. See how counseling and training around mental health can not only change your life, but those around you in your fire organization as a whole.

Welcome!

My name is Dani Shedden and I am a mental health counselor and owner of Close the Gap Wellness.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor.

My education includes a Masters of Science in Clinical Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University and a Masters Certificate in Fire Ecology, Management, and Technology from University of Idaho.

My background not only includes working in the mental health field, but as a wildland firefighter for the Bureau of Land Management and the United States Forest Service. I have served as a Peer Supporter, Peer Lead, and Coordinator for the Critical Incident Stress Management Interagency programs.

One of my core values is taking care of people, I continue to do this work outside the land agencies as a CISM Clinician, Mental Health Educator, and as a Human Factors Facilitator for Fireline Leadership courses with Mission Centered Solutions.
